Research Associate/Senior Research Associate: Molecular Biology

Job Description

Amunix Operating Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on individual to join our expanding team in the role of Research Associate/Senior Research Associate with a strong background in molecular biology focusing on cloning. He/She will report to the Associate Director of Protein Engineering.  He/She will be responsible for the construction of DNA for new cancer product candidates.  He/She will also be responsible for maintaining an accurate database of constructs and track their progress through the production pipeline.  He/She must have a strong initiative and desire to work in a fast paced, team-oriented, dynamic environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Independently implement cloning strategies for new cancer therapeutic candidates
  • Aid in the purification and characterization of cancer therapeutic candidates
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with other R&D members in a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Maintain a current and accurate laboratory notebook and prepare data into presentation formats
  • Present data in project team meetings
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements:

  • B.S or a Masters degree in Molecular Biology or related fields with 2+  years of hands-on laboratory experience, preferably in the biotech/biopharmaceutical setting
  • Strong scientific background in cloning and DNA purification
  • Ability to think critically and creatively to identify and solve scientific problems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skill a must
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40lbs and work at the lab bench for extended periods of time
