Research Associate (JR./SR.)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Amunix Operating Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on individual to join our expanding team in the role of Research Associate. The candidate is to undertake research under the instructions of the supervisor/project manager and to provide support to any staff who may be assisting with the research.

POSITIONS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts hands-on research in scientific field
  • Spends some time developing plans for the project. Supervisory/project management staff member to closely oversee research procedures to be followed
  • Supervisory staff plans schedules according to variety of methods to be used and availability/quantity of resources
  • Spends some time conducting literary research related to research project and more time on hands-on research
  • Thorough record keeping through database and notebook entries
  • Prepares reports of completed projects for presentation to company personnel, publication in technical journals, or for use in further applied or theoretical research activities

KEY REQUIREMENTS/DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from a qualified university in Life Science/Chemistry or related fields, or equivalent, and 1-2 years of relevant work experience or
  • Associate degree in a scientific field, with 3-4 years relevant work experience, or 6+ years equivalent work experience in scientific related field
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
  • Must be highly organized, analytical, accurate and detailed oriented
  • Must have some detailed knowledge of standard reference/information sources and library skills; must be able to read and interpret technical, trade documents and journals
  • Must be able to analyze and prioritize assignments; also must judge the amount of time to spend for the expected outcome, according to the importance of a project and the type of information needed
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of an interdisciplinary team
  • The position may be required to lift up to 40lbs
  • The position requires the ability to walk and/or stand for extended (hours) periods at a time.
